The Inclusive Education Specialist, under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, is dedicated to delivering exceptional services to students with special needs, spanning from kindergarten through grade 12. This role emphasizes collaboration in the development and execution of tailored educational programs, which include specialized instruction, tutoring support, and consultations with general education personnel.

Position Highlights:

- Weekly Commitment: 37.5 hours

Compensation:

$40.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops individualized education plans in collaboration with parents and educational team members.
  • Facilitates learning for students with diverse learning, emotional, and physical challenges.
  • Creates instructional strategies that align with the general education curriculum for both individual and small group settings.
  • Collaborates with parents, administrators, and specialists to formulate educational strategies that enhance students' academic, physical, and social growth.
  • Prepares educational materials and organizes classroom activities.
  • Acts as the coordinator for the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) in conjunction with general education staff.
  • Monitors student progress and participates in the review and adjustment of IEPs as necessary.
  • Maintains precise student records.
  • Mentors and supports teaching assistants working with students with disabilities.
  • Guides students in preparing for transitions between grades and life skills development.
  • Evaluates students' abilities and educational requirements, tracking their performance.
  • Engages in discussions regarding student progress with other educators.
  • Fosters positive relationships with students and their families through effective communication.
  • Adheres to district policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Valid state teaching certification as mandated by state and district regulations.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in an educational setting.
  • Standard Teacher Certification in Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education preferred.
  • Endorsement as a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards.
  • Participation in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate as per contract or state regulations.
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as relevant to the job site.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in the English language required.
  • Computer proficiency is necessary.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
