**POSITION PURPOSE**:
The Food Safety/Quality Assurance Associate is responsible for providing technical & administrative support to the Quality Assurance team in relation to Food Safety and Product Quality. This role is responsible for analyzing trends, managing cross functional efforts, and implementing food safety protocols to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations across our restaurant locations.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide guidance to training/OPS/R&D teams to develop regulatory compliant restaurant procedures.
- Monitor foodborne illness data; conduct investigations and provide extensive coaching and/or recommend other accountability responses to ensure food safety standards.
- Review restaurant, customer, and third-party audit reports to identify any negative trends. Communicate trends and ensure corrective action is performed.
- Review supplier reports and identify negative or missing critical data; effectively prioritize follow-up to ensure business objectives are achieved without compromising food safety standards.
- Manage the third-party audits through Steritech, including analyzing results, identifying, and communicating trends, recommending enhancements.
- Analyze health department inspection reports to identify trends and opportunities; ensuring corrective actions are taken as needed.
- Prepare training and executive presentation materials that effectively communicate complex materials in a concise and compelling manner.
- Manage required documentation, both internally and externally, including supplier audits and reports in such a manner that ensure the company has data needed for an effective withdrawal, if needed.
- Manage restaurant and franchise hierarchies within all QA vendor systems to ensure critical food safety information is effectively disseminated.
- Manage product withdrawals in collaboration with QA Category Manager, Supply Chain, Distribution Centers, and third-party partners.
- Formalize restaurant retail purchase authorization memo in partnership with QA, R&D and Supply Chain departments.
- Coordinate activities related to potential food safety incidents. Act as a point of contact with QA Category Manager for food safety emergencies, and responses by maintaining documents and chronological updates.
- Other activities, duties or responsibilities that are assigned by your supervisor.

**Education/Work Experience**:
Bachelor’s degree in any field.
Certification in Food Safety/Quality Assurance is a plus.
Retail or restaurant experience is a plus.

- Must be willing and able to travel locally within Southern California and to out-of-state restaurant locations, as needed by car or airplane.
