Role Overview: As a Product Quality Engineer, you will collaborate both internally and externally to establish, develop, and implement processes that ensure the delivery of high-quality and dependable products.

This position primarily focuses on our Anvil and Ghost products, with opportunities for career advancement across our various developmental projects.

Ideal Candidate: The perfect candidate will possess a solid understanding of manufacturing, product development, testing/system performance standards, metrology, and continuous improvement practices, particularly in relation to drones and aerial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead product development initiatives to enhance quality experiences for Anvil and Ghost through comprehensive engineering activities, including detailed design evaluations, process development, and validation of processes and components.
  • Clarify and resolve development uncertainties linked to product maturity, process stability, and field performance that affect quality and reliability targets for mass production.
  • Facilitate the transition from new product introduction (NPI) to a sustainable, predictable high-rate manufacturing process and supply chain.
  • Take ownership of risk mitigation strategies to enhance reliability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Engage in quality assurance activities from conception through development and manufacturing to operational deployment.
  • Ensure adherence to product and process specifications, while continuously refining these requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to outline and implement the product roadmap.
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) processes, evaluating the effectiveness of actions and disseminating lessons learned across the product team.
  • Conduct product health data analysis and improvement initiatives, establishing metrics to gauge quality and predictive performance factors.
  • Support the ongoing enhancement of the Quality Management System, refining necessary documentation and activities, and contributing to investigations and projects at both team and organizational levels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality within aerospace/defense or similar hardware sectors.
  • Familiarity with design review processes and quality management of PCBA, harnessing, avionics, systems integration, composites, propulsion systems, and lethality systems.
  • Proven experience in driving product quality and performance requirements through test and measurement system development and optimization.
  • Knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements.
  • Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data mining, metrics generation, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technical field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in developing quality systems for low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Experience with IPC standards and general workmanship standards.
  • Knowledge of government contracts and MIL standard requirements related to quality for aerial vehicles.
  • Experience with design software such as Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Jira, Tableau, and Altium.
