State Government Affairs Specialist

Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Policy and Operations for State Government Affairs, this role will provide crucial support to the state legislative and regulatory affairs policy teams, including complex bill and docket tracking, reporting, and high-level administrative responsibilities. Provides support for budget planning, spending, and tracking for both legislative and regulatory departments. This position is suitable for a generalist who can be assigned to a regular set of responsibilities, but who can also be available for special projects and short-turnaround assignments.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for data entry for state legislative bills and regulatory dockets impacting Comcast businesses.
- Document management in SharePoint sites, as well as production process management for various policy briefs, plans, reports, and guides.
- High-level administrative budget management for state legislative and regulatory government affairs budget.
- Strong ability to manage, analyze, and synthesize large sets of information into various usable formats.
- Responsible for various administrative tasks for state legislative and regulatory policy teams.
- Research and develop policy position papers, reports, and other policy-related materials.
- Assist state legislative and regulatory teams in navigating corporate subject matter experts. Maintains and builds relationships with internal subject matter experts.
- Assists with projects related to community affairs.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work independently and use judgement to problem-solve unique and challenging issues as they arise.
- Proven exceptional consulting, facilitation, and client relationship management skills.
- Strong team player willing to assist department in various tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and possess good organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent Comcast in a positive, professional manner.
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, able to effectively communicate in both written and oral form.
- Proven excellent project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work with online issue management and tracking tools.
- Exceptional time management and strong eye for detail.
- Practices good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality of sensitive information regarding department activities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; occasional nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Position may be mostly remote; regular connectedness and communication via phone and email are essential.
- Helpful, but not essential, if candidate has experience with state legislative processes.
Job Specification:
- Some government affairs or political experience preferred.
- Requires 5+ years experience.
Education Level:
- Bachelor’s Degree.

Salary:
Primary Location Pay Range: $36.19 - $54.29
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
