The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Government Affairs and Fundraising to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and managing our government affairs and fundraising efforts to advance our advocacy priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute efficient government affairs and fundraising strategies to achieve ACOG's annual goals, including management of PAC promotion and messaging, digital and in-person fundraising opportunities, and various donor incentive programs.
- Manage all administrative logistics of daily government affairs and fundraising operations, including coordination with other ACOG departments and external consultants, processing of contracts and invoices, and logistical management of all contributions, disbursements, and event logistics.
- Provide leadership, direction, and management of staff, including supervising staff, providing feedback, coaching, support, mentoring, performance management, and training and development opportunities as appropriate.
- Liaise with ACOG members, candidates, campaigns, and committees, often serving as the primary point of contact for government affairs and fundraising efforts.
- Work with other physician groups to coordinate successful joint fundraising events.
- Maintain accurate records of government affairs and fundraising event invitations received and coordinate ACOG physician or staff attendance at events. Manage event RSVPs, request and submit event contributions, track all disbursements, and provide other relevant support as needed.
- Develop content and compile relevant reporting data for annual reports and other ACOG publications, as needed.
- Create government affairs and fundraising correspondence and materials to expand and promote member engagement, with a particular focus on creative fundraising opportunities.
- Process all government affairs and fundraising check and credit card contributions.
- Maintain government affairs and fundraising database, including ensuring information is current and accurate, and creating innovative and efficient ways to better-utilize fundraising resources.
- Manage all aspects of development of government affairs and fundraising strategy, including researching Congressional and State candidates and elected officials, vetting candidates requesting government affairs and fundraising support, and monitoring races.
- Manage relevant government affairs and fundraising information in ACOG's membership databases and conduct necessary data imports and exports.
- Plan government affairs and fundraising events and organize efforts and materials for Congressional Leadership Conference, Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting, State Legislative Roundtable, and Annual District Meetings. Travel to meetings as necessary.
- Liaise with external consultants, including compliance firm and outside counsel, and help to ensure that all government affairs and fundraising contributions and disbursements meet Federal Election Commission requirements.
- Coordinate with ACOG Accounting and Membership departments to manage incoming government affairs and fundraising contributions, both personal and corporate, made in conjunction with ACOG dues payments.
- Manage government affairs and fundraising portion of ACOG's website, in coordination with relevant teams within ACOG.
- Assist with other government affairs and fundraising and related ACOG advocacy projects as needed.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5 years of related experience in government affairs and fundraising and database management required.
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, analytics, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple projects, exercise sound professional judgment, and meet deadlines is essential.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or other related software and Internet research skills are required. Experience with NGP database preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with various levels of professional staff and physician volunteers is essential.
- Ability to travel.
- Interest in women's health, health equity, physician issues, and legislative advocacy required.
