We are seeking a highly skilled Director of State Government Affairs to join our team at State Street Assisted Living. As a key member of our government relations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to advance our organization's interests in state government.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement state government affairs strategies to advance our organization's interests
- Build and maintain relationships with state government officials, stakeholders, and other key influencers
- Monitor and analyze state legislative and regulatory activities, providing timely and accurate information to our team
- Develop and implement lobbying and advocacy campaigns to advance our organization's interests
- Collaborate with our internal teams to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with our organization's goals and objectives
- Provide regular updates and reports to our leadership team on state government affairs activities and outcomes
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. public policy, government relations, politics)
- 7 years of progressively responsible experience in state government affairs, lobbying, or a related field
- Extensive understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes
- Experience with state government affairs in a multi-state lobbying role
- Ability to travel approximately 30%, frequently during peak legislative sessions
