What we need

We are looking for a CAD Specialist to join our Engineering Services team within our Hardware organization. Your job will be supporting CAD users from a variety of engineering. You will also be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and managing multiple CAD applications, and PDM/PLM systems.

What we do

The Engineering Services team is part of the Hardware Org which is responsible for Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical Engineering of the Symbot and the Structure, System Layout, and Electrical Distribution Systems.

What you’ll do

  • Administer all CAD applications to ensure their trouble-free operation by CAD users.
  • Establish good working relationships with CAD users and provide technical support for these users.
  • Develop, educate and encourage CAD standards usage regarding layering, dimensioning, GD&T, text annotations, and best practices of CAD models & drawings.
  • Formulate and conduct training sessions and create content for propagating CAD knowledge throughout the organization.
  • Analyze current CAD application usage and plan for growth or increases in software licensing and network capacity.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, IT, and 3rd party PDM Administrator to manage Symbotic’s SolidWorks implementation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, IT, and others to manage Teamcenter, Autodesk, and OrCAD products.
  • Train users regarding the submission and disposition of Engineering Change Requests/Orders (ECRs/ECOs) and BOM creation.
  • Encourage strong modeling and drafting skills, understand and teach accepted drafting standards, demonstrate competence in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Reconfigure 3rd party models as needed for system optimization.
  • Organize and maintain Symbotic’s CAD parts library, including commercial parts.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or related degree.
  • 2+ years of experience as a CAD Administrator in a professional setting.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the installation, implementation, and utilization of CAD software. Admin experience in the following is a plus: AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, OrCAD, AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Full familiarity with engineering document control processes, including BOMs, ECR/ECO
  • PDM/PLM Admin experience, including item workflows, attributes, and database knowledge. Teamcenter & SAP experience is a plus.

Our Environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be Job Type Regular.
