This position is a vital role in the manufacturing sector and our client, the individual is responsible for operating machinery that creates plastic parts through a high-pressure injection molding process.

Machine Setup and Operation:

  • Securely install molds into the injection molding machine according to work instructions.

  • Adjust machine settings like temperature, pressure, and cycle time based on material properties and part specifications.

  • Load plastic pellets or granules into the machine's hopper.

  • Operate the machine to inject molten plastic into the mold cavity to form the desired shape.

  • Monitor the molding process, ensuring smooth operation and identifying potential problems.

  • Remove finished parts from the mold after the cooling cycle.

Quality Control and Finishing:

  • Visually inspect parts for defects like blemishes, cracks, or dimensional inconsistencies.

  • Operate trimming tools or other secondary equipment to remove excess plastic from parts (de-gating).

  • Pack and label finished parts according to customer specifications.

  • Maintain accurate records of production output and any quality control issues.

Machine Maintenance:

  • Perform basic cleaning and maintenance tasks on the injection molding machine to ensure optimal performance.

  • Report any malfunctions or signs of wear and tear to supervisors for repairs.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area around the machine.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • May assist in setting up new molds or troubleshooting production problems.

  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Maintain a positive work ethic and collaborate effectively with team members.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some employers may prefer experience or vocational training in plastics manufacturing).

  • Prior experience operating injection molding machines (a plus).

  • Understanding of plastic properties and the injection molding process.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed instructions.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Background and drug test along with interview.
