SUMMARY: Your role will focus on enhancing the efficiency, quality, and reliability of Injection Molding operations through the development and refinement of processes, tooling, and mold designs.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the Technical Team to implement new mold designs, tooling, and processes that align with customer expectations.

2. Establish scientifically grounded processes and create documentation to ensure consistent quality and efficiency based on established specifications.

3. Provide engineering insights on new designs to ensure process capability and participate in mold design evaluations prior to production.

4. Offer technical assistance to manufacturing for capability challenges, process enhancements, and daily operational tasks.

5. Engage with auxiliary equipment to support molding operations, including robots and other machinery.

6. Lead or contribute to cross-functional teams aimed at achieving operational objectives.

7. Mentor and guide Molding Technicians and production mechanics.

8. Conduct training sessions, provide performance feedback, and manage work assignments as necessary.

9. Uphold injection molding process control and capability by applying scientific molding principles.

10. Assist in the implementation of RJG Scientific/Decoupled Molding methodologies.

11. Drive improvements in molding processes, focusing on cycle time reduction, scrap minimization, and optimal processing parameters.

12. Provide technical support for new tooling qualifications and process capability assessments.

13. Contribute to process improvement initiatives, aiming to reduce downtime and costs.

14. Aid in the setup, repair, and troubleshooting of Injection Molding machinery.

15. Support the company's goals related to Safety, Quality, and Productivity.

16. Assist in coordinating the processing aspects of mold transitions from other facilities.

17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Plastics Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. In-depth knowledge of plastic injection molding processes, machinery, and materials such as PP, HDPE, and PS.

3. Familiarity with Hot Runner Designs and high cavitation molds.

4. Understanding and application of scientific molding principles.

5. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.

6. Knowledge of automation technologies, including robotics and vision systems.

7. Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.

8. Capable of effectively communicating information and responding to inquiries from various stakeholders.

9. Proficient in MS Office applications and database management.

10. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

11. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic production environment.

12. Physically capable of performing tasks that include walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

13. Visual acuity to distinguish color variations and identify defects.

14. Ability to work safely in a production environment with moving machinery.
