The Network Interconnect Engineer will both work on developing new networking solutions as well as partner with the Sales Team in a technical role to support and facilitate the sales of interconnect (optical transceivers and cables), network switches, and passive products and solutions. This position is a discipline at Axiom Connectivity focused on Data Centers and MSO (Cable)/Telco Service Provider networks. 
Specific Requirements:
We are looking for candidates who have experience with Optical transceiver systems, Data Center Interconnections (DCI), and FTTx networks (xPON).

Location Requirements:
  • This job is in Austin, TX. You must be able to work from Axiom’s Austin, TX office.  his is a hybrid job which requires 3 days a week in the office.
  • This is not a remote position. Please only apply if you live in the Austin, TX area.

Travel Requirements:Occasional regional and international travel. Some short notice, overnight, weekend travel due to customer need. As the Network Interconnect Engineer, your key responsibilities include: 
  • Ensure effective coordination and support between account teams for pre/post-sale technical resources.
  • Develop and maintain trusted professional relationships with customer technical leadership and engineers involved with planning and implementing initiatives, projects, deployments, etc.
  • Provide technical enablement to all customers, including product and solution training, roadmap updates, hands-on training, and developing/providing product demonstrations.
  • Communicate highly technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Take ownership of high-priority or sensitive customer issues, ensuring a prompt, satisfactory resolution to the issue by using a systematic approach and assembling appropriate technical resources.
  • Understand and influence customer requirements and translate them into company solutions.
  • Proofs-of-Concept (PoC), failure analysis and test plans overview, preparation during the appropriate sales stage.
  • Compile detailed Optical Product Evaluation (OPE) to provide product qualification to internal organizations and external customers.
  • Product demos, Bill-of-Materials (BoM), solution proposal, and RFI/RFP support.
  • Stay up to date on relevant competitive solutions, products, services, and industry trends.
 Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience with large-scale data center or service provider network operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Optical transceiver systems, Data Center Interconnections (DCI), and FTTx networks (xPON). 
  • Knowledge of the design of the custom system for an optical transceiver, AOC, DAC, DWDM/CWDM optical transport systems, switches, routers, modules, platforms in major network equipment such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Ciena, Nokia/ALU, etc.
  • Knowledge in optical networking technologies within the realm of AI using high-speed optical pipelines that connect a global array of GPUs and CPUs. 
  • Understanding of data networking infrastructures, architectures, concepts, and associated technologies: Route/Switch, TCP/IP, Infiniband, LAN/WAN, Routing Protocols (BGP/ISIS/OSPF, etc.), MPLS, LDP, VPN, Multicast, ACL, FW.
  • Knowledge in deploying, implementing automated testing, and supporting different network monitoring system systems,
  • Customer face, hands-on, and hard-core engineering work to transform innovative ideas into functional, scalable network solutions.
  • Expertise in architecting, developing, and enhancing Fiber solutions to create healthy business.
