Position Summary: The Power System Network Model Engineer plays a crucial role in the integration of generation and energy storage resources into the ERCOT System. This encompasses the entire process from the initial application for entry into the Generation Interconnection or Change Request (GINR) process to the final approval for commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts security screening studies and analyzes generation element parameters.
  • Collaborates closely with various ERCOT departments, including System Operations and Market Operating Services Support.
  • Maintains an accurate Network Operations Model through detailed model changes delivered by Network Operations Model Change Requests (NOMCRs).
  • Provides mentorship and training to members of the Engineering Development Program (EDP).
  • Engages with the Resource Integration Working Group (RIWG) on integration and interconnection matters.
  • Evaluates new technology implementations and suggests methods for accurate modeling.
  • Implements improvements to the modeling process and develops compliance reports.
  • Participates in the review and drafting of changes to protocols and training materials.

Essential Duties:

  • Works under the guidance of senior engineers to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Adheres to applicable regulations and organizational policies.
  • Participates in teams to gather input and perform necessary studies.

Experience Requirements:

  • No minimum work experience is required for entry-level positions; salary and level will be determined based on overall experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in power system engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the electric utility industry is advantageous.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.

Work Environment:

  • This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence based on business needs.
