Position Overview:

In the Arm Central Technology Systems division, we provide specialized leadership across various sectors, including mobile technology, infrastructure, and automotive applications.

We are seeking an expert in interconnect and I/O systems to enhance our diverse team. Your contributions will be significant as we operate in small collaborative groups.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the I/O subsystem architecture and establish technical strategies.
- Foster collaboration and achieve consensus while engaging with architects, software teams, partners, standards organizations, system designers, IP teams, and performance analysis groups.
- Define and prioritize technical requirements for upcoming Arm products.
- Take ownership of complex issue resolution.
- Occasional travel to Arm and customer locations may be necessary.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- Proven track record with a minimum of 7 years of industry experience in translating server requirements into system solutions, along with a commitment to sharing your unique expertise and technical insights to contribute positively to Arm's success.
- Extensive knowledge of PCI Express and related interconnect protocols, including deadlock analysis, flow control, and ordering mechanisms.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, complete, and concise written specifications, along with excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) to effectively engage with cross-functional teams both locally and globally.

Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with general-purpose CPU microarchitecture, including processor pipelines, caches, memory hierarchy, and multi-processor systems.
- In-depth understanding of system component interdependencies, including CPU, cache, memory, system interconnect, and peripherals.
- Knowledge of datacenter architecture requirements for integrated and discrete accelerators.
- Understanding of Software Architecture, RAS, QoS, Power Management, Security, Firmware, and Virtualization aspects, particularly concerning I/O devices.
- Experience in development, modeling, prototyping, validation, bring-up, or production support of host and device implementations.
- Familiarity with the Arm architecture and AMBA protocols.
- Experience with networking protocols such as Ethernet, RDMA, or InfiniBand.
- Knowledge of storage protocols like SATA and NVMe.
