Vice President, Transmission and Interconnection Department

Cubico Sustainable Investments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Vice President, Transmission and Interconnection Department. This exciting opportunity will play a key role in the development and execution of our transmission and interconnection strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Structure, execute, and manage contractual arrangements with consultants and subcontractors to support transmission planning analyses.
  • Perform transmission modeling using PROMOD, PSS/E or PowerWorld, and provide feasibility-level analysis for development pipeline projects.
  • Evaluate transmission & interconnection tariffs, costs, timelines, queue, and processes for various markets and provide strategy to project teams.
  • Manage transmission analysis to identify transmission constraints and evaluate curtailment and congestion forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms to ensure reliable and cost-effective electrical design of contracted plants.
  • Monitor and understand electricity market policy and rules with respect to interconnection and transmission planning.
  • Lead the US Transmission team, including development, recruitment, and retention of personnel.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a similar engineering background.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a transmission analysis role, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Working experience in or direct interaction experience with major regional transmission organizations.
  • Understanding of electricity market policy and rules with respect to interconnection and transmission planning.
  • Working knowledge of high voltage EPC systems, including High Voltage Substation and Transmission line modifications/upgrades.
