What Makes You A Good Fit?
  • 5+ years of experience in the electrical industry.
  • Vocational certificate or degree, or related work experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.

  • Maintain multiple states Electrician license, Massachusetts & Rhode Island preferred.

Role:To direct, manage, and coordinate all special projects department operations including management and direction to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.  Establishes productivity and profit goals; participates in developing new service business and ongoing growth, including existing customers.  This position requires the individual to use his or her experience, sound judgement, and initiatives to successfully meet the department’s business objectives. Additionally, provide leadership and direction to the small projects team.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the overall Special Electrical Projects Departments (projects under $50,000) business plan and goals.
  • Achievement of annual Special Electrical Projects Department planned revenue and profitability goals (understands profit and loss statements.)
  • Meets with customers to review possible work.
  • Estimates the work to be completed.
  • Creates proposals for upcoming work to be done and reviews it with the customer and has them sign off on proposal.
  • Purchases required equipment and parts for specific jobs and schedules the work to be completed.
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; meets annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintains staff levels to provide excellent customer service while meeting overhead budget.  Accomplishes special projects department HR objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions, planning and reviewing compensation actions, enforcing policies and procedures, etc.
  • Enforces service employee standards of dress, conduct, job performance, and company safety requirements.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of local codes and standards along with certifications for the generator department to be sure we will always be able to meet manufacturer requirements.
  • Participates in educational opportunities, reads professional publication, maintains personal network and participates in professional organizations.
  • Implementation of standardized workflow process, policies and procedures with continuous improvements.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by taking immediate action to resolve problems, which might result in customer dissatisfaction.
  • Proficient in motivating the team members and evaluating job performances.
  • Implementation of customer service training programs for all special projects’ representatives.
  • Develops operational plans; studying existing conditions; determining needs to accomplish operational plans; mapping solutions; updating and modifying requirements and solutions; updating and modifying requirements and solutions; preparing cost estimates and budgets.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with codes and legal regulations.
  • Mange personnel and assist with planning for jobs by determining specifications; selecting contractors; establishing installation schedules; planning shutdowns and installations; integrating requirements with architectural and mechanical designs, verifying code requirements; updating cost estimates
  • Meet with COO monthly to discuss monthly projections and other financial benchmarks.
  • Operate a company vehicle and be responsible for the normal repair and maintenance as required by company policy.  The company to directly pay for all vendor invoices relating to repairs and maintenance.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.  Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or HR.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Participates in EOS activities, weekly meetings, cross-departmental teams, and other EOS tasks as assigned.

Compensation & Location:This position will be based out of Westport, MA. This is a full-time position that is available for immediate hire. A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that will include a base salary, company vehicle with gas card, 401K plan with company match, cell phone, laptop/tablet, and health insurance.
