Payroll Accountant

We are looking for results-oriented individuals, who can work independently and collaboratively with a team. This position is based in our North American Shared Service Center.  We are located at 635 @ Coit Road and offer a 40% remote/work-from-home environment.

Summary: The Payroll Accountant  will assist the Chief Administration Officer (CAO) with data associated with administering systems (Howells & UKG) related to annual merits, bonuses, and incentive programs. This position will also maintain data related to customer and supplier requests, ITAR administration, insurance renewals, and benefits analyses. 

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following:
  • Update system (Howells) with employee data such as leavers, joiners, change in salary, bonus & BIP changes, etc.  
  • Maintain system (Howells) for all shared information with updates for joiners/leavers, vesting/lapses, changes in divisions, etc.
  • Assist CAO with benefit analysis, audit requirements, Concur analysis, etc.
  • Complete all customer & vendor certification forms.
  • Assist with gathering insurance payroll details for annual renewal and audits.
  • Coordinate all ITAR & DFARS activity to include annual employee-related training.
  • Update, maintain, and keep current Bodycote registrations with System for Award Management (SAM) to include CAGE/UEI numbers for each location.
  • Administer platform Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (a.k.a. PIEE and/or SPRS) in conjunction with DFARS Requirements.
  • Extract employee data from HRIS and work in conjunction with the HR team for submittal to the vendor for the compiling and analytics of the annual Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Assist with and maintain the Joint Certification Program (JCP) for each of the US plants, as needed.
  • Build and maintain a database for property leases, agreements, contracts, property deeds, etc. with expiration dates. 
  • Update HRIS with work authorization data, draft routine travel letters, and coordinate ITAR data for licensing as needed.
  • Maintain Canadian Controlled Goods filings/updates (Canada ITAR).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.  Will consider applicable experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, payroll, or data analysis. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to ensure success in the role. 
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data to ensure success in the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to report findings in a concise manner and communicate/distribute to colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include interpersonal effectiveness to interact within all levels of the organization.

  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.

  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
