Robert Half is partnering with a client on a Payroll Specialist opportunity. This role is part-time but will require a lot of work at the beginning then decrease to 20-30 hours per week. The expectation is that this person will be on site 3 days per week for a standard 7-8 business hours to be the POC for all employees regarding payroll concerns.





We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This individual will put their skills to use in building and maintaining the payroll infrastructure for our organization of around 200 employees using Paycom. Being well versed in Paycom is critical. Additionally, the person in this role will be the point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries from our staff, ensuring clear and concise communication and strong service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement and maintain the payroll module and processes in Paycom, including setting up new hires, tax information, direct deposit setup, and more.
  2. Process full-cycle payroll in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring correct payments, deductions, and withholdings.
  3. Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll issues or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  4. Balance the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
  5. Generate and provide payroll-related reports as needed for finance or HR purposes.
  6. Stay current with industry best practices, legal changes, and emerging technologies related to payroll processing.
  7. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure smooth procedures and communication.


Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role processing payroll.
  2. Strong familiarity with Paycom is required.
  3. Excellent knowledge of rules and regulations surrounding payroll.
  4. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  6. Superior customer service skills, along with the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
  9. Knowledge of general financial procedures.
  10. CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.

Working Hours: This is a part-time position. The exact hours will be determined based on business needs and the successful candidate’s availability.
