Job Description
Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Vice President of Tax to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $190,000 to $250,000 per year.
Job responsibilities:
- Draft relevant tax alerts related to tax law changes and updates, as well as tax mitigation strategies.
- Responsible for the preparation, review, and timely filing of tax returns
- Provide oversight to the Tax Compliance, 1099, IRA and Tax Processing functions.
- Research recent law changes, and federal and state tax proposals.
- Analyze client information and offer recommendations for reducing client tax liabilities
- Travel to corporate offices and client sites.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, including a strong academic record, from a four-year college or university
- 10+ years’ relevant experience, Big Four preferred.
- CPA required
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Relevant knowledge of tax preparation software systems, including CCH and Thomson Reuters.
Experience:
- Expert knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations related to income taxation of trusts, individual and pass-through entities and gift and estate taxation.
- Highly organized with good time management skills
- Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills.
