We are looking for an Executive Underwriter for our property line of business. This role will be hybrid and based in our Chicago, Illinois office.

Allianz Commercial (AzC) specializes in corporate property insurance for the most complex and challenging risk exposures in more than 200 countries and territories. With a focus on larger international risk portfolios, we offer tailor-made 'All Risks' property damage and business interruption insurance through our global network.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Regional Property Leader – Midwest Zone, this position will take prime responsibility for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet LoB(s) targets in accordance with underwriting guidelines and authority. Responsibilities include negotiating price and terms, training and developing the team, and maintaining strong relationships with producers and clients.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Contribute to development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy.
  • Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet targets.
  • Negotiate price and terms with producers.
  • Manage complex referrals and re-underwrite complex business.
  • Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to producers.
  • Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ proven track record in underwriting profitable Property business.
  • In-depth understanding of LoB products and regional/local insurance markets.
  • Demonstrable relationships with brokers at the peer group level.
  • Preferably a bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to LoB.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify issues.

The annualized base pay range for this role is $117,582 to $201,500. The actual salary will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the skills and experience of the candidate.
