Director of Sales
The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive revenue growth and market penetration for Retrospec's product lines. This senior leadership role will oversee the sales department, manage key customer relationships, and collaborate cross-functionally with other teams such as marketing, product development, and operations to ensure alignment with company goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in sales leadership, strategic thinking, and team management, and will be passionate about growing a business in the outdoor recreation space.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet and exceed revenue targets across all product categories (e.g., bikes, strollers, camping gear).
- Lead and manage a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and development to maximize individual and team success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners to expand market share and increase sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, and operations to align sales strategies with overall business goals and ensure the successful launch and promotion of new products.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback to identify new sales opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Set and track sales performance metrics, providing regular reporting to executive leadership and adjusting strategies as needed to achieve business goals.
- Participate in the development of pricing strategies, promotional plans, and go-to-market strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
- Represent Retrospec at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand brand visibility and network with potential customers and partners.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer-centricity within the sales team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in sales leadership, with at least 3 years in a senior sales management role, preferably within the outdoor recreation, consumer products, or related industries.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a sales team.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in building and managing relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A passion for outdoor recreation, cycling, or similar products is a plus.
