Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Full cycle payroll: 5-7 bi-weekly (individual) payroll submissions supporting 200+ employees using Paycom software: implements, maintains, and reviews bi-weekly payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Full understanding of state and federal payroll law including meal and break, waivers, penalties (ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices).
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
  • Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments.
  • Prepares periodic reports as needed by department supervisor or Executive Director of earnings, hours worked, and Personal Time Off (PTO).
  • Is available to answer employee questions and concerns regarding their paycheck and benefits.
  • May assist in the new hire process for staff including pre-employment screening, orientation and processing new hire paperwork.
  • Attends all mandatory in-service meetings. Complies with all department and facilitates policies and procedures.
  • Provide day-to-day Administration of pre onboarding associates, Oversee all new hires documentation, I9 compliance
  • Create new hire folders and ensures that all employment related documents are retained and stored accordingly
  • Manage Human Resources Central Email correspondence
  • Manage and assign training courses for all staff, track completion
  • Responsible for responding to agency requests (unemployment and disability claims, verification of employment) timely
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Proficient with payroll software/HRIS systems (Paycom and ADP WFN highly desired).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Experience:
  • At least two to four years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
