Job Title: Information Security Manager

Reports to: Senior Vice President

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Grade: EX02

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

SUMMARY:

The Information Security Manager is the process owner for the development and implementation of a bankwide information security program and ongoing activities to preserve the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of information resources in compliance with applicable security regulations, policies, and standards. This position partners with the Planning & Systems Department, as well as personnel to enforce and verify compliance of information security standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor and/or Trustco Bank’s Board of Directors.

  • Evaluates, reviews, and composes information security policies and procedures in response to operations and regulatory developments.
  • Analyzes and identifies overall technology and information security risks for new and changing technologies within the Bank.
  • Participates in meetings to address technology and information security risks.
  • Reviews and approves reports produced by the information security coordinator.
  • Analyzes security events and report any significant events.
  • Analyzes and evaluates tests information and the applicable controls.
  • Analyzes results of system logging and monitoring to identify patterns which could result in potential security risks.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work to time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work well independently and in groups.
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Programs; Excel and Word.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in business-related field

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS:

This is a full-time position. Office hours Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL:

2-4 trips per year for annual training management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace; bilingual skills a plus. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, including but not limited to company policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
