About This Role

Biogen is seeking a highly motivated scientist with excellent knowledge and experience in LC-MS/MS bioanalysis to join the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department. The candidate will be responsible for bioanalytical support of discovery and development programs, including small molecule compounds and oligonucleotides. Experience in regulated bioanalysis and GLP studies is preferred. The candidate should be able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects to ensure timely support of the projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with scientific thinking and problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop new bioanalytical methods for quantification of small molecule compounds and oligonucleotides (ASO, siRNA etc.) in biological matrices. 
  • Analyze biological samples (plasma, CSF, tissue etc.) and timely deliver high quality bioanalytical data to support non-clinical and possible clinical studies.
  • Oversee non-GLP and GLP bioanalytical activities at CROs. Provide scientific guidance on method transfer/development, qualification/validation, and sample analysis at CROs.
  • Write and review study protocols and bioanalytical reports that are suitable for inclusion in registration dossiers.
  • Manage multiple projects within timelines according to high scientific and ethical standards.
  • Evaluate and implement new bioanalytical technologies for solving DMPK challenges or project needs.
  • Publish scientific papers and present at external scientific meetings.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related discipline with 0-3 years relevant industry experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and extensive experience with LC-MS/MS bioanalysis of small molecule compounds are required. Experience with other modalities such as oligonucleotides and proteins is desired.
  • Capable of performing bioanalysis and solving bioanalytical technical problems.
  • Familiar with bioanalytical method validation regulatory guidance and GLP regulations.
  • Understanding of pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism principles.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong records of scientific publications
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, as well as in a team setting.
  • Experience in ligand binding assays such as ELISA and MSD assays is a plus.
