Human Resource Specialist

Job Summary:

The Human Resource Specialist will assist the Human Resource Manager with complex and specialized administrative tasks including but not limiting to reviewing job applications from prospective employees, managing and overseeing all employee records, documenting all HR processes, administering payroll and generating reports for the Business Unit.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist in handling the day-to-day function of HR for the site to include but not limited to processing payroll,
  • Assist maintaining employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
  • Assist HR Administration, for all benefit administration, electronic employee file management, data metrics, training, HR administration, ADP Management and monitoring site Absentee program with the appropriate discipline administration.
  • Maintains accurate records of active job openings and received applications; manages internal and external job postings.
  • Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to HR KPI’s, staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, extended leaves of absence, FMLA, STD and LTD.
  • Supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in retirement or benefits plans.
  • Perfoms all record audits, documenting HR Processes and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
  • Assists in evaluation activities to support a positive culture of engagement.
  • Assist in providing employee relations support, including conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and performance improvement counselling. Assist in conducting investigations regarding discrimination and unfair employment practices, including, but not limited to, those involving federal and state agency charges.
  • Backup for the Human Resource Administrative Assistant and Human Resource Generalist
  • Performs other duties as assigned for the Business Unit.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree OR a minimum of 3 years experience in the related field
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
