Primary Function of Position
As the Refugee Community Resource Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting refugee, SIV, asylee, humanitarian parolee, and other ORR-eligible clients, whether they are currently in Refugee Coordinated Case Management or have completed their case management period. This position focuses on developing community-based partnerships and resources to effectively address and support client needs.
Major Position Responsibilities
- Community Partnerships Development: Develop beneficial community connections, partnerships, and resources in response to assessed client needs.
- Communication and Referral Pathways: Establish pathways for communication and referrals between CCS staff, clients, and community partners.
- Resource Engagement: Develop and engage with a minimum of 30 community resources per quarter.
- Supplemental Services: Provide supportive services that supplement but do not replace case management services, for both eligible case-managed and non-case-managed clients.
- Eligibility Verification: Ensure that clients served meet all previously established eligibility requirements.
- Client Referrals: Refer clients to appropriate services and organizations through warm or soft hand-offs.
- Case Notes Management: Maintain accurate and detailed case notes that capture all client services provided.
- Case Closure Communication: Clearly and respectfully communicate the CCS case closure processes to clients.
- Meeting Participation: Attend regularly scheduled case management and staff meetings.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with job developers, youth and health teams, volunteer programs, other CCS staff, state agencies, and service providers in providing reports, documents, and other necessary paperwork.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- This position is in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- Some local travel may be required.
Physical Demands
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand, as necessary.
- This role includes driving locally.

- Tech-Savvy Operations: Proficiency in computer skills to maintain financial data, spreadsheets, databases, scheduling, and email in Outlook Office 365.
- Language Skills: Proficiency or fluency in one or more of the following languages is an advantage: Dari, Pashto, Swahili, Somali, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, and Arabic.
- Personal Qualities: Personal qualities of openness and respect for co-workers and clients, compassion, and graciousness in helping clients to assess and face their situations and to accept assistance.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or diverse populations
- 1+ years working as a community resource coordinator or similar position strongly preferred.
Background Screening Requirement
- Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.
Licenses, certifications, and credentials
- Current Utah driver's license, proof of auto insurance with minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident, 21 years of age or older, a clean driving record, and ability to meet CCS vehicle safety requirements.
Position status and expected schedule
- This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM - 5 PM - sometimes past 5:00 pm or on weekends according to client needs.
- This is an in-person position.
