Department: Migration & Refugee Services

Reports to: Refugee Resettlement Case Manager Supervisor

Hiring Range: $18.00 - $23.00/Hr. DOE

Primary Function of Position

As the Refugee Community Resource Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting refugee, SIV, asylee, humanitarian parolee, and other ORR-eligible clients, whether they are currently in Refugee Coordinated Case Management or have completed their case management period. This position focuses on developing community-based partnerships and resources to effectively address and support client needs.


Major Position Responsibilities

  1. Community Partnerships Development: Develop beneficial community connections, partnerships, and resources in response to assessed client needs.
  2. Communication and Referral Pathways: Establish pathways for communication and referrals between CCS staff, clients, and community partners.
  3. Resource Engagement: Develop and engage with a minimum of 30 community resources per quarter.
  4. Supplemental Services: Provide supportive services that supplement but do not replace case management services, for both eligible case-managed and non-case-managed clients.
  5. Eligibility Verification: Ensure that clients served meet all previously established eligibility requirements.
  6. Client Referrals: Refer clients to appropriate services and organizations through warm or soft hand-offs.
  7. Case Notes Management: Maintain accurate and detailed case notes that capture all client services provided.
  8. Case Closure Communication: Clearly and respectfully communicate the CCS case closure processes to clients.
  9. Meeting Participation: Attend regularly scheduled case management and staff meetings.
  10. Collaboration: Collaborate with job developers, youth and health teams, volunteer programs, other CCS staff, state agencies, and service providers in providing reports, documents, and other necessary paperwork.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  1. This position is in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  2. Some local travel may be required.

Physical Demands

  1. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand, as necessary.
  2. This role includes driving locally.

  9. Tech-Savvy Operations: Proficiency in computer skills to maintain financial data, spreadsheets, databases, scheduling, and email in Outlook Office 365.
  10. Language Skills: Proficiency or fluency in one or more of the following languages is an advantage: Dari, Pashto, Swahili, Somali, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, and Arabic.
  11. Personal Qualities: Personal qualities of openness and respect for co-workers and clients, compassion, and graciousness in helping clients to assess and face their situations and to accept assistance.

Education, Training, and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or diverse populations
  3. 1+ years working as a community resource coordinator or similar position strongly preferred.

Background Screening Requirement

  1. Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.

Licenses, certifications, and credentials

  1. Current Utah driver's license, proof of auto insurance with minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident, 21 years of age or older, a clean driving record, and ability to meet CCS vehicle safety requirements.

Position status and expected schedule

  1. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM - 5 PM - sometimes past 5:00 pm or on weekends according to client needs.
  2. This is an in-person position.
