SUMMARY: The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources functions within an organization. This includes developing and implementing strategic human resources initiatives that align with business objectives, fostering a positive and high-performance culture, as well as day-to-day management of all human resources functions. Also ensures compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations, as well as monitoring and analyzing HR metrics to identify areas for improvement and best practices. Will lead and manage all aspects of the HR function, including talent acquisition and retention, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, leaves, learning and development, succession planning, rewards and HR operations.

The individual will partner with the executive leadership team to develop and implement the organization’s short and long term strategic plan.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIITES*:

  • Drive the recruitment and onboarding process to attract and select top talent, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Oversee employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment laws. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to daily management of employees, mitigating legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure consistency of practice in the application of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Guide and support leaders on performance management, including coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary guidance.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues, working closely to improve work relationships, build engagement, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Advise and counsel senior leadership on HR-related matters.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership of the organization to continually align human resources programs to support the company’s business strategy.
  • Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, identify opportunities, and provide linkage to learning programs that enhance employee skills, engagement, and career growth.
  • Develop and implement Human Resources strategies and policies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Provides leadership, input and oversight to the compliance requirements and initiatives, giving direction when necessary while assuring that team efforts reinforce the company culture, mission, and values.
  • Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive company culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Assist in creating an atmosphere of teamwork among company employees that promotes individual growth, creates a strong sense of community, rewards innovation and performance, and builds on the company’s culture and competitive advantages.
  • Acts as an effective coach and mentor to the HR team, facilitating professional development, training, and certification activities for the HR team.
  • Plan Administrator for 401(k) plan, review and submit required plan fillings, including Forms 5500 and 8955-SSA
  • Plan Administrator for Welfare lines of insurance, review and submit required plan filings including 5500’s.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field or 10 years of related experience.
  • At least five years of human resource management experience required.
  • Professional HR certification preferred.
  • A proven track record of excellent HR leadership and performance during a career which clearly demonstrates the candidate’s ability to understand and proactively manage human resources issues in a manufacturing and customer focused company.
  • Significant experience in a manufacturing environment, working with a combination of hourly and professional employees.
  • An approachable, hands-on management style with attention to detail. Keen business judgment combined with the ability to provide fresh, proactive insight.
  • A willingness to be out among the employees listening to their ideas and concerns while gaining their trust and support.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Time Away: We observe 10 company-paid holidays per year and up to ten (10) days of accrued vacation time in the first year. Eleven (11) days at year two (2). Twelve (12) days at year three (3). Thirteen (13) days at year four (4) and fifteen (15) days at year five (5). We also offer six (6) accrued personal days for you to use for things like weddings, moving, mental health, religious holiday, a sick child, or for anything that is truly personal.
  • Saving for the Future: plan for your short-term and long-term goals with our 401(k)-retirement savings plan with employer match with no vesting schedule. You are fully vested on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. SATO will match 100%/dollar-for-dollar of your 401(k)-deferral amount of the first 3% of your pay and an additional match of 50%/$.50 on the next 2% of your pay. For example, if you defer 5% of your pay into the 401(k) Plan, SATO will make a 4% matching contribution.
