Job DescriptionJob Description

DC Scholars Public Charter School prepares students to attend and succeed academically in high school and college, and DC Scholars provides students with a foundation of life skills required to become productive members of their communities.

DC Scholars After School Program is looking for part-time individuals to teach the after-school curriculum. We are seeking quality leaders that are dedicated and committed to the enrichment of our youth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lesson planning and implementation of curriculum
  • Provide leadership to scholars PK3-5
  • Use developmentally appropriate strategies for behavior management
  • Managing groups while providing individual attention
  • Maintaining a safe environment
  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • High School diploma  
  • 1 year of teaching experience
  • 1 year of experience working in a childcare/school setting
  • Excellent organizational and teamwork skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and TB test

Part Time Hours:

  • Monday- Thursday 3:00 PM - 5:45 PM
  • Friday- 1:00 PM - 5:45 PM
