Job DescriptionJob Description

Adara Communities is currently seeking a Benefits Specialist to provide administrative support to the human resources and payroll department, also managing employee benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability and FMLA.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience; plus a minimum of 2 years of Benefits and Payroll experience REQUIRED
  • Enrollment of all Benefits Programs (Health & Dental Insurance, Disability and Life Insurance); providing new hires with explanations of benefits and instructing them on enrollment and fulfillment procedures
  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction
  • Tracking, reviewing and reconciling monthly and annual invoices/expenses associated with employees' Benefits
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives
  • Report and administer workers' compensation claims
  • Oversee and assist payroll processor with bi-weekly payroll
  • Ensuring that the company Benefits policies comply with laws and regulations
  • Ensure that HR policies and processes are consistently administered
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations affecting human resources
  • Administering FMLA when needed
  • Administering COBRA when needed
  • Ability to comply with the Company's and departmental safety policies and procedures

  • Familiarity with benefits and payroll software
  • Strong Microsoft Office application knowledge, proficient with MS Excel
  • Must handle confidential matters with appropriate discretion
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a PLUS, but not required
