About us:  

The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) is a global Jewish human rights organization that confronts anti-Semitism, hate, stands with Israel, defends the safety of Jews worldwide, and teaches the lessons of the Holocaust for future generations.  It is an accredited Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) at the United Nations, UNESCO and the OSCE, the Organization of American States, the Latin American Parliament, and the Council of Europe. The SWC is headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in New York, Chicago, Miami, Toronto, Paris, Jerusalem and Buenos Aires. The Museum of Tolerance Los Angeles, founded in 1993, is the educational arm of the SWC. Moriah Films is the Center’s two-time Academy Award®-winning film division and the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem is scheduled to open in 2025.  

  

About the role:   

The Program Manager, Mobile Museums of Tolerance (MMOT) CA will work with the New York office to ensure the productivity and success of California’s MMOT.  

  

About you:  

You are education leader passionate about human rights injustices, combatting hate, community and educational engagement, diversity, inclusion, and Holocaust education. Your background in management and operations will help you thrive as you manage and oversee educators implementing the MMOT education programs. (View: Mobile Museums of Tolerance ) 

  

This position is based in Los Angeles. This position will report to the National Director, Field Education Programs for the Museum of Tolerance while also closely coordinating and collaborating with field education staff in other parts of the country. 

  

Responsibilities  
  

  • Manage the planning, development, and delivery of California MMOT programs.  
  • Responsible for the overall accuracy of all support documentation captured in the grant reporting system and all report details.  
  • Manage the Master Calendar of programs.  
  • Ensure the highest level of quality control for programs.  
  • Provide support and, if needed, substitution for any elements of program delivery.  
  • Act as a liaison between program and participant groups and education associates.  
  • Manage/assist in guiding Coordinator and Education Associates to ensure accuracy of work and deadlines.  
  • Contribute to the development of new programs.  
  • Conduct follow-up activities including support with assessment, program evaluations, ongoing communication and promotion of advanced initiatives.  
  • Outreach to educational institutions and other organizations for participation.  
  • Other job-related duties and responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate by the National Director of Field Education Programs.  

  

Experience and Skills:  
  

  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum and program development (grades K-12).  
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering thematic model lesson plans.  
  • Strong presentation and group facilitation skills.  
  • Meticulous organizational skills with attention to detail.  
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills are a must.  
  • High degree of flexibility, can adapt easily to changing environment and tasks.  
  • Ability to work well independently as well as provide supporting role on team.  
  • Highly motivated, shows initiative, and has ability to problem solve.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook (mandatory), PowerPoint, Publisher, Access. Ability to learn project management software rapidly. 
  • Reside in the Los Angeles area or surrounding communities.
