Behavior Support Specialist will provide crisis support and intervention to clients and facility staff. The behavior support specialist will collaborate and coordinate with community agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides services to clients in the RSW program and training facility staff about behavioral interventions.
  • Practice in accordance with HIPAA and safekeeping of client protected health information.
  • Provide psychoeducation groups to increase socialization and community integration.
  • Ensures to follow requirements of organization, licensing, laws, and payers for all services.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practices, knowledgeable about behavioral health disorder and community resources.
  • Compliant with trainings and certifications.
  • Behaviors reflect an ethical and professional manner consistent with policy, licensing entities, and legal requirements.
  • Committed to showing respect for diversity and developing multicultural sensitivity and humility.
  • Complete Behavioral Support Plan with each client and train staff about interventions.
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner.
  • Attend monthly RSW meeting with DSHS staff.

Education/License/Certification/Experience

  • BA/BS/BSW degree in a behavioral science field.
  • Current Washington State Licensure/Certification/Registration. Attain an Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration within 90 days of hire.
  • 2 years direct clinical services with individuals in long-term facilities, preferred.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License, vehicle, and insurance.

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

  • Able to pass pre-employment criminal background check; may include additional search by DSHS.
  • General computer proficiency and able to use electronic health records in a timely manner.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • RSW Clinician will provide outreach to community setting which include but not limited to long-term facilities, medical facilities, community organizations and hospitals.
  • Occasionally may lift up to 20 lbs. Required to sit, walk, stand, talk, use close vision and drive personal vehicle The physical demands outlined are required by an employee. Reasonable accommodations may be use with persons with disabilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
