Job Title: Classroom Support Specialist
Company: Walton County Public Schools
Overall Purpose: To assist in the educational program of designated classrooms, collaborating with individual students or small groups, while providing administrative support to educators and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modifies classroom activities, tasks, and resources under the guidance of the teacher
- Facilitates classroom assignments, assessments, and homework
- Guides students with lesson tasks and reinforcement exercises
- Aids the teacher with computer lab operations
- Supervises students in various environments to maintain a secure learning atmosphere
- Upholds confidentiality and performs related duties as required
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED Certificate is mandatory.
Completion of 60 semester hours of college coursework or a passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment is required.
Relevant job experience is preferred.
Physical Demands:
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and significant manual dexterity are necessary.
The role involves 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.
Education/Training: Must maintain all required licenses and certifications.
Background Checks: Criminal Background Check is necessary.
FLSA Status/Work Calendar: Non-Exempt/182 days
