As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Cardiology Administrative Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care within the cardiology department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and prepare examination areas for various procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records by verifying and updating patient information during each visit.
  • Facilitate patient care by communicating test results, managing appointment scheduling, and coordinating referrals.
  • Gather clinical data through patient interviews and document findings in medical records for provider review.
  • Support patients by providing accurate information to insurance companies while ensuring confidentiality of patient data.
  • Perform clinical tasks, including obtaining vital signs, processing specimens, and executing phlebotomy procedures as trained.
  • Ensure examination rooms are well-maintained, stocked, and prepared for patient visits.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, including rescheduling and cancellations, while handling incoming calls efficiently.
  • Assist with billing processes by collecting payments, balancing cash drawers, and updating patient financial information.
  • Maintain a safe and alert working environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned to support the department's operations.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent communication and auditory skills for effective interaction.
  • Capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting of heavier items.
  • Frequent use of vision for tasks requiring close and distant sight.
  • Occasional driving may be required.
