Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) in Baltimore, MD is seeking a passionate Martial Arts Instructor to join our team. Compensation:

$30 - $35 hourly

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive martial arts curriculum that includes techniques, forms, self-defense, and the philosophy of martial arts.


Instruction:

  • Provide engaging and interactive instruction to youth of varying skill levels, ensuring each student is supported and challenged appropriately.


Physical Training:

  • Guide students through physical conditioning, stretching, and strength-building exercises to enhance their martial arts skills and overall fitness.


Assessment:

  • Evaluate and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.


Safety and Discipline:

  • Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment by teaching and enforcing proper safety protocols and discipline.


Events and Demonstrations:

  • Organize and coordinate demonstrations, belt tests, and competitions to showcase student progress and provide real-world experience.


Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other instructors, staff, and community partners to support program goals and enhance the overall educational experience.


Mentorship:

  • Serve as a mentor and role model for students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.


Community Engagement:

  • Participate in community outreach and events to promote LTYC's programs and build relationships with local organizations and stakeholders.


Professional Development:

  • Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development in the field of martial arts education.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Certification or rank in a recognized martial arts discipline. Additional certifications in related fields (e.g., fitness training, first aid) are a plus.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching martial arts to youth, preferably in a school or community-based setting.


Skills:

  • Proficiency in martial arts techniques, forms, and self-defense. Strong understanding of martial arts philosophy and ethics.


Communication:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to connect with and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.


Physical Fitness:

  • Demonstrated physical fitness and ability to lead rigorous physical training sessions.


Creativity:

  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in teaching methods and curriculum design.


Team Player:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.


Passion:

  • A genuine passion for martial arts and a commitment to empowering youth through physical and mental discipline.
