Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) in Baltimore, MD, US is seeking an enthusiastic Fashion & Cosmetology expert to join our vibrant team. Compensation:

$30 - $35 hourly

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive fashion and cosmetology curriculum that includes fashion design, sewing, makeup artistry, hair styling, and skincare.


Instruction:

  • Provide engaging and interactive instruction to youth of varying skill levels, ensuring each student is supported and challenged appropriately.


Hands-On Training:

  • Guide students through practical projects, including designing and creating clothing, styling hair, applying makeup, and maintaining skin health.


Assessment:

  • Evaluate and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.


Fashion Shows and Events:

  • Organize and coordinate fashion shows, photo shoots, and other events to showcase student work and provide real-world experience.


Resource Management:

  • Manage and organize supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is in good working condition and readily available for use.


Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other instructors, staff, and community partners to support program goals and enhance the overall educational experience.


Mentorship:

  • Serve as a mentor and role model for students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.


Community Engagement:

  • Participate in community outreach and events to promote LTYC's programs and build relationships with local organizations and stakeholders.


Professional Development:

  • Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development in the fields of fashion and cosmetology education.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Cosmetology, Education, or a related field. Certification from an accredited cosmetology school is preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching fashion design and/or cosmetology to youth, preferably in a school or community-based setting.


Skills:

  • Proficiency in fashion design, sewing, makeup application, hair styling, and skincare. Strong understanding of fashion and beauty trends.


Communication:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to connect with and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.


Creativity:

  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in teaching methods and project design.


Team Player:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.


Passion:

  • A genuine passion for fashion and cosmetology and a commitment to empowering youth through creative expression.
