Are you passionate about nurturing creativity in young minds through media arts? Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Media Arts Instructor to join our team. As an integral part of our innovative programs, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide the next generation of media artists. With a competitive hourly salary of $22 - $25, you will play a vital role in empowering youth to express themselves through various forms of media. Compensation:

$22 - $25

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive media arts curriculum that includes digital photography, video production, graphic design, animation, and other relevant media arts disciplines.

Instruction:

  • Provide engaging and interactive instruction to youth of varying skill levels, ensuring each student is supported and challenged appropriately.

Project Management:

  • Guide students through the creation of media arts projects, from concept to completion, including planning, execution, and presentation.

Technology Integration:

  • Utilize various software and equipment to enhance the learning experience, staying current with industry trends and technological advancements.

Assessment:

  • Evaluate and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.

Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other instructors, staff, and community partners to support program goals and enhance the overall educational experience.

Mentorship:

  • Serve as a mentor and role model for students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Community Engagement:

  • Participate in community outreach and events to promote LTYC's programs and build relationships with local organizations.

Professional Development:

  • Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development in the field of media arts education.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts, Fine Arts, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching media arts to youth, preferably in a school or community-based setting.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in media arts software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.). Strong understanding of digital media production, including photography, videography, and graphic design.

Communication:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to connect with and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.

Creativity:

  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in teaching methods and project design.

Team Player:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.

Passion:

  • A genuine passion for the arts and a commitment to empowering youth through creative expression.
