Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) is dedicated to empowering youth through creative expression and the arts. We are seeking a supportive and enthusiastic Instructional Assistant for Arts to join our team in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will assist arts instructors in delivering high-quality arts education, helping to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Compensation:

$21 - $25 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Support: Assist arts instructors in preparing and delivering lessons, including setting up materials and equipment, and providing hands-on support during class activities.
  • Student Engagement: Support student learning by providing individualized attention, answering questions, and offering guidance and encouragement.
  • Resource Management: Help manage and organize art supplies, materials, and equipment, ensuring everything is in good working condition and readily available for use.
  • Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment, helping to enforce classroom rules and procedures.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative duties such as taking attendance, maintaining student records, and preparing instructional materials.
  • Event Support: Assist with the planning and execution of art exhibitions, performances, and other special events, ensuring they run smoothly and effectively.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with arts instructors, staff, and volunteers to support program goals and enhance the overall educational experience.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge in arts education.
  • Must be able to commit 3-4 days a week
Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a BA/BS degree or higher in the arts, arts administration, education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with working with youth.
  • Ability to operate computers and possess basic knowledge of MS Windows, Microsoft Word, and other software.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Positive attitude, high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and customer service.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be passionate about impacting the youth through arts education.
  • Teaching Experience: 1-­2 years.
  • Ability to travel.
  • At least ­20 hours per week.
  • Contractual/ hourly pay.
