About Us:
Berding & Weil is a well-established law firm specializing in construction defect and corporate counsel/HOA. We are seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable and Trust Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within a law firm environment, with specific experience in managing contingency cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Law Firm Trust Account Management: Oversee and manage the firm's trust accounts in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Contingency Case Settlement Reconciliation: Handle the financial reconciliation of settlements in contingency cases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreements.
  • GET Taxes: Administer General Excise Tax (GET) obligations for Hawaii-based operations.
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations: Conduct thorough monthly reconciliations of the firm’s bank accounts.
  • Month End/Year End Closing: Assist in closing the firm's financial records at the end of each month and year.
  • Financials: Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and records.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients regarding financial matters related to their cases and accounts.

Additional Experience (For Backup Purposes):

  • Daily Cash Receipts: Assist with the recording and reconciliation of daily cash receipts.
  • Client Billing: Support all phases of the client billing process, including E-Billing for insurance matters.
  • Accounts Receivable Inquiries: Address inquiries from staff and clients related to accounts receivable.
  • Understanding of Attorney Rate Structure/Setup: Assist with the setup and management of attorney rate structures.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in an accounting-related field, with previous experience in a law firm highly preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Great attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong confidentiality and trustworthiness
    • Proficiency in mathematics and handling financial data
    • Competency in Office 365
    • Experience with Surepoint/LMS system
