JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close processes, assisting with accounting related transactions and managing the A/R, A/P and Payroll functions. You will also assist other members of the Accounting Department as needed and work closely with the team to ensure financial goals and objectives are achieved.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the corporate accounting department providing guidance, direction and coaching to direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure all accounting transactions are recorded in an effective and timely manner in accordance with GAAP.
• Coordinate and oversee month-end closing processes, including reviewing general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Implement and adhere to policies and procedures for the accounting function, including compliance of all company accounting standards.
• Perform month-end accounting functions including balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Manage both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions including but not limited to: processing invoices, preparing statements, making payments, collections and performing and reviewing account reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable activity.
• Oversee weekly payroll processing for field and office employees.
• Assist with analyzing and evaluating corporate operating expenses.
• Coordinate with finance teams across different departments and locations to gather financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting.
• Perform customized financial analysis as needed.
• Ensure proper internal control systems are in place and followed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA or CMA designation a plus
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role
• Familiarity with the commercial Construction and Service industry is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills
