SUMMARY:
The Internal Accounting / NOC Mission Coordinator plays a critical role in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) National Operations Center (NOC), providing direct mission support and assisting the Director of Operations and other personnel in managing essential programs. This position involves coordinating the use of CAP assets at a national level in support of the Department of Defense (DoD), federal, state, local, and other volunteer agencies. The role includes managing and reconciling mission funding, determining reimbursement eligibility, and interpreting data from multiple sources to enhance mission effectiveness. Additional responsibilities include serving as an after-hours duty officer and supporting various operations support programs and budgets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Process and audit reimbursement requests from CAP wings for operational missions, ensuring the accuracy of mission documentation and adherence to reimbursement rates.
  • Determine the eligibility of expenses and approve or disapprove reimbursement requests accordingly.
  • Manage the planning and timely execution of operations center activities, including budgeting, program suspense, correspondence, reports, and database management.
  • Assist in developing and tracking the operations directorate budgets.
  • Provide 24-hour coverage of CAP operations as an NOC duty officer, making independent decisions to support time-critical operational matters.
  • Process purchase requests, monitor status, and authorize payments for approved purchases.
  • Maintain regular attendance, manage frequent interruptions, and work irregular hours as necessary to meet work deadlines.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work under pressure to meet short deadlines.
  • Excellent PC skills in MS Office Suite to include Excel is required.
  • Must be able to work with individuals/units in the field with little or no supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Must have prior accounting experience, preferably using an electronic accounting system like Navision.
  • Must possess or be able to possess a Secret security clearance.
