Human Resource Generalist

At Beacon Hill Hospitality, we know that our greatest assets are our team members. In this fast-paced, independent role you'll be charged with setting up best-in-industry practices for all HR functions -- with the goal of attracting and retaining top talent. We're looking for someone who's had solid HR experience and is ready to take on running an HR function on their own. You'll grow with our rapidly growing start-up and each day will look a little different. From recruitment to compliance to benefits to training, you'll definitely wear a lot of hats. You'll be an integral part of our small, but mighty HQ team, working from home 3-4 days each week and in person 1 - 2 days each week.

General Responsibilities

Recruitment & Pre-employment - Post ads, conduct initial phone screens, support hiring manager and facilities hiring of top talent. Work with hired candidates to ensure that our extensive pre-employment requirements are completed quickly. Continually improve the recruitment process; always looking to find ways to find top talent and bring them on quickly

Training - Work closely with the VP of Ops to develop a comprehensive training program to help our team members become the best versions of themselves. Review, track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.

Administrative HR Tasks - Ensure exceptional documentation and legal compliance for all compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance management, recognition, occupational health and safety and training/development

Human Resources Expertise - Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, employment law and other critical areas.

Team Member Assistance - Ensure our employees get great service. You're the first point of contact for team members with questions or concerns.

Benefits Strategy & Administration - As we build out our benefits offerings, you'll ensure we're compliant with state and federal laws and bring fresh ideas for offerings that will engage our team members.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficient with or ability to quickly learn iSolved (our HRIS system)
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and Google Apps

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field
  • At least five years of HR experience
  • SHRM a plus
