What you’ll do:

This role will be responsible for managing the construction technology program for the organization. Core functions under this role will include conducting laser scans, managing the reality tracking program and BIM coordination.

The need to directly and efficiently provide project specific support requires this role to interact with Project Teams including Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators and Project Executives. Interaction with Clients, Owners, Subcontractors and design teams is also required. The ideal candidate will be able to work with stakeholders across the region to promote and support construction technology use and needs as well as support innovation in the use of technology to streamline the project process and required tasks. The position reports to the Alexandria office, but also provides remote support to the offices in Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, and Salt Lake City.

The Construction Technology Specialist is responsible for the following tasks as required during new project pursuits, preconstruction, construction, project closeout and training:

Laser Scanning

  • Perform laser scanning as required on required projects
  • Create point clouds and produce heat maps as requested

Technology Management

  • Software and Vendor management
  • Equipment inventory and management
  • National deployment support
  • Training and implementation

Reality Tracking

  • Perform reality tracking efforts as required
  • Manage reality tracking program and efforts by other team members
  • Provide overall support and management of the program

BIM

  • Provide input into BIM requirements for projects
  • Understand and assist in basic BIM coordination and scope development
  • Execute on basic BIM modeling
  • Ability to assist in asset management modeling

Qualified Candidates will possess the following:

  • BS/BA/Associates from an accredited college or university in construction management, architecture or engineering required
  • A minimum of two to four (2-4) years general experience working with construction technology in the architectural or construction industry
  • Working experience with laser scanning equipment and software (Faro)
  • Working knowledge of the latest Autodesk Building Design Suite (Revit, Navisworks &AutoCAD) or equivalent
  • Experienced with reality tracking systems (StructionSite, DroneDeploy, Matterport)
  • Experience interfacing with Clients, Architects, Owners, and Subcontractors
