Job Title: Business Office Coordinator

Department: Administration

Reports To: Practice Administrator

Supervises: To be determined

Job Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the Practice Administrator with daily activities and projects. This role may include the oversight and management of teams within the business office areas of Alabama ENT Specialists.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Assist front personnel with day-to-day inquiries if needed with error resolution.

Work with other staff to follow up on accounts until zero balance.

Assist in the process of insurance claims, following up with necessary supporting documentation.

Assist with posting payments when needed and bank preparation of deposits.

Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting for providers.

Monitors the status of the work and projects for the supervisor.

Prepares various documents and handles confidential matters in accordance with practice rules and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule vendor representative lunches

Performance Requirements:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with physicians, employees, and preferred vendors/contacts

Attitude to foster a positive, productive, and goal-oriented environment for all

A willingness to be flexible and address unexpected challenges

Analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong judgement and decision-making skills

Ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects and priorities without sacrificing work quality or timeliness

Experience in a variety of programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, QuickBooks, eClinical Works or similar electronic medical record and management system

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. College experience preferred.

Experience: Minimum two years of administrative and billing experience, including one year within a healthcare setting.
