Job DescriptionJob DescriptionQuality Manager – Manufacturing OperationsExpert Technical Solutions is seeking a Quality Manager for one of our industry leading clients based out of Atlanta, GA (Duluth). Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Quality Manager is responsible for supporting the Operations department by ensuring that all company products and services meet consistent quality standards. The Quality Manager’s primary responsibilities are planning, coordinating, and implementing business activities to ensure quality in production and distribution. This role will utilize analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills to review systems; identify gaps against business requirements, regulations, and industry best practices; and develop solutions.This is a Permanent, HYBRID (Monday - Thursday onsite; WFH on Fridays) opportunity offering competitive pay and outstanding growth potential.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understands customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality processes.
  • In conjunction with the Sales, Service, and Engineering departments, develops and reviews specifications and testing for products and processes.
  • Ensures adherence to quality guidelines as well as regulatory obligations.
  • Oversees all aspects of Quality Control, including but not limited to incoming inspection, in-process testing, final testing.
  • Oversees all aspects of Quality Assurance, including but not limited to training, documentation, investigations, CAPAs, statistical monitoring, and audits.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve safety, quality, and efficiency and to reduce cost.
  • Works with the Production Manager and Materials Manager to plan Quality activities in accordance with the production and shipping schedules.
  • Sets priorities for the Quality team based on business and customer needs.
  • Leads change initiatives. Identifies the best approach for implementing processes.
  • Recommends improvements to the policies and procedures that affect the department.
  • Manages employee relations for Quality personnel, including but not limited to recruiting, hiring, training, goal setting, performance management, coaching, counseling, discipline, termination, career development, and succession planning.
  • Builds team relationships across functions, making departmental decisions within the framework of the broader organization’s needs and priorities.
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are followed. Champions and sustains a speak up culture within the department. Models the company’s core values.
DESIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in Quality management – Small / Midsize Manufacturing environment experience desired.
  • 3+ years of supervisory/management experience
  • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience and/or certification required
  • ASQ certification preferred.
  • Experience with ISO quality systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional understanding of quality systems and best practices/processes
  • Ability to investigate problems, establish root cause, and develop corrective/preventive actions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong mathematical skills, with working knowledge of data analysis and statistical methods.
  • Keen attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
