Role Overview:
WEG Electric Corp. is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Engineer II. This position is pivotal in fostering, executing, and overseeing initiatives to ensure the organization adheres to quality standards and implements optimal practices in quality assurance. The role involves extensive collaboration with various departments to promote continuous enhancement and cost reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Apply insights gained from issues identified on the production floor.
2. Utilize investigative methodologies and conduct root cause analysis to tackle intricate challenges and effectively implement corrective measures.
3. Design and deliver quality-focused training sessions, educating staff on corporate and ISO 9001 standards.
4. Ensure adherence to regulatory mandates and industry benchmarks. Conduct and manage internal audits.
5. Track and report on quality control key performance indicators and corrective actions.
6. Collaborate with Engineering, Service, Process, and Production teams to enhance processes and minimize expenses. Coordinate with headquarters to align and refresh quality initiatives based on historical data and best practices.
7. Advocate for the Quality Management System (QMS) and safety protocols.
8. Oversee the complete lifecycle of technical customer complaints, coordinating resource allocation with Factory and Service.
9. Monitor and report on quality-related metrics. Manage the Quality Index System (QIS).
10. Supervise incoming inspection and final testing control plans within SAP.
11. Manage the Quality Management module in SAP.
12. Assess component deviations from a quality perspective.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
2. Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is essential; knowledge of ISO 19011 is advantageous.
3. Expertise in root cause analysis and other investigative techniques, including statistical methods.
4. Experience in a SAP environment is required.
5. Understanding of Automation products is necessary; familiarity with WEG Automation products and UL standards is a plus.
6. Knowledge of Portuguese and/or Spanish is beneficial.
7. Awareness of relevant standards and industry requirements.
8. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, coupled with meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
9. Experience in conducting internal audits, problem-solving, and formulating corrective action plans.
Experience:
5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with practical exposure to Quality Management Systems (QMS) and quality control.
