Quality Manager – Manufacturing Operations
Expert Technical Solutions is in search of a Quality Manager to oversee quality assurance processes within a leading manufacturing organization. This role will report directly to the VP of Operations and is pivotal in ensuring that all products and services adhere to established quality benchmarks.
The Quality Manager will be tasked with planning, coordinating, and executing quality-related activities to guarantee excellence in production and distribution. This position demands strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities to assess systems, identify discrepancies against business requirements, regulations, and industry standards, and formulate effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements to develop and implement efficient quality processes.
- Collaborate with Sales, Service, and Engineering teams to establish and review product specifications and testing protocols.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage all facets of Quality Control, including incoming inspections, in-process evaluations, and final testing procedures.
- Oversee Quality Assurance functions, including training, documentation, investigations, CAPAs, statistical monitoring, and audits.
- Identify and recommend improvements to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency while minimizing costs.
- Coordinate with Production and Materials Managers to align quality activities with production and shipping timelines.
- Set priorities for the Quality team based on organizational and customer needs.
- Lead initiatives for change, determining the most effective methods for process implementation.
- Propose enhancements to policies and procedures impacting the department.
- Manage employee relations within the Quality team, encompassing recruitment, training, performance management, and career development.
- Foster interdepartmental relationships, making decisions that align with the broader organizational goals.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and promote a culture of open communication within the department, exemplifying the company's core values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Management within a small to midsize manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Proven experience with manufacturing and quality systems.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is required.
- ASQ certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- In-depth understanding of quality systems and best practices.
- Ability to investigate issues, determine root causes, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong mathematical skills with a solid grasp of data analysis and statistical methods.
- Meticulous attention to detail and effective time management skills.
- Ability to communicate and present effectively to diverse audiences.
