POSITION: People Operations Coordinator

Reports to: Sr Director, People Operations

Candidates must be local to the Dallas/Fort Worth area as this is a hybrid role in our Arlington office.


About the United Football League:

The United Football League (UFL) is the premier professional spring football platform, formed by the merging of the XFL and USFL in 2024 under the combined ownership of RedBird Capital Partners, FOX, Dany Garcia and Dwayne Johnson. The UFL has eight teams in Arlington (TX), Birmingham (AL), Detroit (MI), Houston (TX), San Antonio (TX), Memphis (TN), St. Louis (MO), and Washington D.C.

About the Position

The People Operations Coordinator will work closely with the People Operations (HR) team to facilitate the coordination of all phases of Human Resources for UFL’s league office, team business and football operations of the League This position will support the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures and practices of the Human Resources department.

The successful candidate will be eager and experienced, detail-oriented, and must specifically excel in high visibility, fast-paced, high-stress, and “roll-up-your-sleeves” environments.


What you will do

Administrative:

  • Coordinate administrative and communication aspects of employee on-boarding, off-boarding and movement within the organization. Partner with other team members to ensure all tasks are completed timely and accurately.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for People Operations and assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.

  • Regularly run audits to ensure employee information is accurate, maintain HR databases and generate reports as needed.

  • Assist with maintaining and communicating the department's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

  • Administer annual compliance requirements, track participation, send reminders, manage certifications and raise visibility to leadership, as needed.

  • Manage and maintain the People Operations calendar including, scheduling interviews, team meetings and managing agendas.

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of employee files in G-drive.

  • Assist in the creation and distribution of People Operations monthly newsletter.

  • Maintain important company-wide information including organization charts and company directory.

  • Participate in related duties and projects and initiatives as assigned.

Payroll & Benefits:

  • Strong HRIS knowledge and deep proficiency in ADP or similar system.

  • Provide assistance to the Director, Payroll by tracking player payroll including, stipends, reimbursements, back payment, appearance fees, etc.

  • Assist with sending payroll reminders to non-exempt employees and managers for timecard approvals.

  • Assist with the open enrollment process and communication of benefits deadlines for new hires.


Recruiting:

  • Support all aspects of recruitment activities including posting open positions, scheduling interviews, drafting offer letters and administering pre-employment paperwork and screenings.

  • Assist with pre-hiring background checks, onboarding and new employee orientation and educating new employees in HR policies, benefits and internal procedures.

  • Administer company swag for new hire gifts and recruiting events.

  • Oversee I9 and E-verify compliance for all newly hired employees and work authorization documents for international players and staff.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human resources-related area, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above

  • 2-4 years of related experience with a working understanding of HR principles, practices and procedures particularly within , payroll, benefits and/or recruiting. Experience within the sports or entertainment industry strongly preferred.

  • High proficiency with G-Suite and related business and communication tools.

  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information in a professional manner,

  • Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and navigate in a rapidly-changing environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities with demonstrated experience collaborating cross-functionally and remotely.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong knowledge of HR-related laws in the United States (including payroll, benefits, compliance, terminations, leave of absences, etc.).

  • Willingness to jump into any task to support the HR team and overall organization.

  • Understanding of HR functions and best practices.
