Job Summary


This Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR Manager and HR teams in supporting designated HR specialties and assisting employees as needed. This position’s functional areas are focused on benefits and Leave administration to ensure they are in alignment with company guidelines, compliant with legal and fiscal regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Benefits Administration: Manage the end-to-end process of employee benefits administration, including but not limited to health insurance, retirement plans, COBRA, flexible spending accounts, disability benefits, and wellness programs.
  • Candidate Sourcing and Outreach: Utilize various sourcing methods (job boards, social media, networking, etc.) to identify potential candidates. Create and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings. Proactively reach out to potential candidates and initiate conversations to gauge their interest and suitability.
  • Screening and Qualification: Review resumes and applications to assess candidates' qualifications and alignment with job requirements Conduct initial phone or video screenings to evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit. Provide candidates with insights into the company, role, and expectations.
  • Collaboration with Hiring Managers: Partner closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and preferences. Assist in developing job descriptions and specifications that accurately represent the role. Regularly update hiring managers on candidate progress and seek their input on candidate selection.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with benefits vendors, such as insurance providers and retirement plan administrators, to resolve issues, answer employee inquiries, and ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related data.
  • Compliance and Recordkeeping: Stay up to date with federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits and ensure compliance with all applicable laws. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to benefits administration.
  • Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries, providing prompt and courteous assistance. Address concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on benefits utilization, costs, and trends. Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost containment.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously review and evaluate benefits processes and systems to identify areas for improvement. Propose and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and streamline operations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and Payroll, to ensure seamless integration and accurate information exchange related to benefits administration.
  • Performance Reviews: Manage performance reviews by sending managers a list of eligible employees. Once they come back with all appropriate approvals, notify Payroll of these changes by completing a Status/Payroll Change Report.


Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 years to 5 years Benefits administration and leave management preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HR Specialist or a Recruiter role.
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, regulations, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with benefits enrollment platforms and HRIS systems (preferably ADP Workforce Now).
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruitment software
  • Ability to evaluate candidate qualifications and cultural fit effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of various sourcing techniques and recruitment strategies
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
