LAN Associates Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Surveying, Inc., (“LAN”) is a mid-sized, multi-disciplined architectural and engineering firm. We are seeking a full-time Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and will work closely with the HR Manager. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, onboarding, policy implementation, benefits, employee relations and employee law compliance. This role will require strong organizational skills, ability to communicate well, and someone who enjoys multi-tasking. Prior experience in a human resources role is preferred. Qualified candidate will be energetic, patient, a great team player, and should have familiarity working in a fast-paced environment. LAN offers a competitive salary and a premiere benefits package. We employ over 125 architects, engineers, surveyors, project managers, environmental professionals, construction professionals and support staff in five offices across three states. The firm has 59 years of experience in the architecture, engineering and construction of a wide range of projects. Responsibilities: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the HR Department. Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation, while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality. Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Ensure compliance with USCIS I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and perform periodic I-9 form audits. Distribute and monitor employee performance evaluations and ensure they are completed in a timely manner. Submit online job postings, shortlist candidates, and schedule job interviews. Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management. Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries. Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees. Assist with advancing the company’s corporate culture through planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations. May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distribution of payroll related materials. Perform other HR related duties, as assigned. Skill Set: Proficient with MS Word & Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint Experience with HRIS systems a plus Experience with Paylocity and Unanet AE a plus Experience with NJ & NY employment laws a big plus Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, related field, or equivalent experience A minimum 1-3 years of HR or employee relations experience Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem solving, and creative thinking Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task with attention to detail Self-motivated team player with excellent people skills Excellent analytical and judgmental capabilities Ability to communicate effectively orally and in correspondence with co-workers and vendors Ability to work independently under minimal supervision Capable of a high level of discretion with confidential material Apply Here
