Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a well-rounded Staff Accountant to join the team in Battle Creek, MI. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit, collaborative environment. You will interact regularly with our service technicians, electricians, customers, and vendor sales associates. As the company grows, this new role offers the opportunity for professional development and advancement.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage phone calls through our automated phone system.
  • Handle all billing except for Contract Billing, including Time & Materials (T&M) billing, service billing, and billing for large non-contract customers.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Technicians on billing management.
  • Route and manage service work via phone answering function.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Print and review weekly Job/Reports and Accounts Receivable (AR) Aging Reports.
  • Conduct collections activities.
  • Order and manage office supplies.
  • Assist with filing, projects, and other administrative functions as needed.
  • Cross-train in all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll.
  • Be a flexible and supportive team player.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 5 to 10 years of accounting experience required.
  • Experience in electrical accounting or construction/trades background strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Foundation Accounting software is a plus.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
