Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a well-rounded Staff Accountant to join their team in Battle Creek, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit, collaborative environment. You will interact regularly with service technicians, electricians, customers, and vendor sales associates. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage phone calls through our automated phone system.
  • Handle all billing except for Contract Billing, including Time & Materials (T&M) billing, service billing, and billing for large non-contract customers.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Technicians on billing management.
  • Route and manage service work via phone answering function.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Print and review weekly Job/Reports and Accounts Receivable (AR) Aging Reports.
  • Conduct collections activities.
  • Order and manage office supplies.
  • Assist with filing, projects, and other administrative functions as needed.
  • Cross-train in all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll.
  • Be a flexible and supportive team player.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 5 to 10 years of accounting experience required.
  • Experience in electrical accounting or construction/trades background strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Foundation Accounting software is a plus.
  • CPA certification is a plus.

  • Health Insurance: BCBS Health Insurance, including dental, with 100% of premiums paid by the company (no payroll deduction).
  • HSA: $1,920 per year contributed to an HSA Flex Debit Card for medical co-pays, with the ability to carry over the balance year to year.
