Our client is seeking a well-rounded Staff Accountant to join their team in Battle Creek, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit, collaborative environment. You will interact regularly with service technicians, electricians, customers, and vendor sales associates. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage phone calls through our automated phone system.
- Handle all billing except for Contract Billing, including Time & Materials (T&M) billing, service billing, and billing for large non-contract customers.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Technicians on billing management.
- Route and manage service work via phone answering function.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Print and review weekly Job/Reports and Accounts Receivable (AR) Aging Reports.
- Conduct collections activities.
- Order and manage office supplies.
- Assist with filing, projects, and other administrative functions as needed.
- Cross-train in all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll.
- Be a flexible and supportive team player.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5 to 10 years of accounting experience required.
- Experience in electrical accounting or construction/trades background strongly preferred.
- Experience with Foundation Accounting software is a plus.
- CPA certification is a plus.
Benefits:
- Health Insurance: BCBS Health Insurance, including dental, with 100% of premiums paid by the company (no payroll deduction).
- HSA: $1,920 per year contributed to an HSA Flex Debit Card for medical co-pays, with the ability to carry over the balance year to year.
- Annuity: A 401-K-like annuity, with $5.50 per hour contributed, totaling $11,440 per year based on 2,080 hours.
- Pension: 3% of gross pay contributed to a pension plan.
- Vacation: Two weeks of vacation to start.
- Holidays: Standard holidays observed, including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
