Job Summary:
We are looking to add a Community School Resource Manager responsible for overall management of Community Schools program including direct services to youth and families, community resource coordination and school collaboration.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple program components, plans and performs a wide variety of duties requiring in-depth knowledge of youth and family development and community resources.
  • Establishes a formal infrastructure for the management of day-to-day program activities that implements methods to achieve quality service delivery, program outcomes and results.
  • Aligns program resources to address the needs of youth and families and ensures systems are in place for crisis intervention, discipline, supportive counseling, advocacy, service referral and follow up for youth and families.
  • Acts as the program liaison with school representatives on matters requiring information, explanation and approval.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with community members and engages in public relation activities for programs.
  • Creates partnerships with parents, teachers, community members and organizations to bring services and resources on site to meet the needs of youth and families.
  • Works independently and utilizes excellent judgment to make decisions based on precedent, including in unusual circumstances when no policy or procedure exists
  • Regularly works with confidential information including subordinate, programmatic, fiscal and consumer information and ensures that all such information is kept confidential according to policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Responsible for program hiring, discipline, performance management and terminations and approves actions of subordinates
  • Provides orientation and on-going training to employees and volunteers on topics such as youth development, family dynamics, understanding poverty and community resources
  • Assures the development & maintenance of program policies and procedures and ensures the maintenance of all program records
  • Monitors program activities, ensures data is entered into the required systems and provides reports as required.
  • Provides input into program budgets and fiscal planning and ensures that program activities fall within projected budgets.
  • Participates in grant writing to continue or expand programming as assigned.
  • Works collaboratively with other OCO programs and provides consultation as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a general knowledge of organizational policies/procedures and their application.
  • Must have a desire to work with youth and families and have a thorough understanding of Youth and Family Development.
  • Must exhibit professionalism, good judgment, flexibility and the ability to work with others in a warm, non-judgmental manner.
  • Must possess supervisory and leadership skills with experience in hiring staff, scheduling and the corrective discipline process
  • Must be able to plan and direct the work of others, set priorities, problem solve and be creative in program planning.
  • Must have knowledge of public services and resources and experience collaborating with other community partners.
  • Must possess facilitation skills, have experience in training others and in effectively leading a group through change
  • Must perform duties in accordance with State and Federal regulations, and Agency and Program Policies and Procedures.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, experience writing policies & procedures and managing expenditures
  • Must be accessible 24 hours/7 days to provide direction and support in unusual situations.
  • Must possess valid NYS Driver’s License, good driving record and have access to a reliable vehicle for travel, to transport consumers
  • Must have acceptable physical and mental health to carry out responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or NYS Registered college in a Human Services Field; and
  • 3-5 years related experience with at least 2 years supervisory and management experience; or
  • Any Equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

Full-time - 37.5 hours per week / 52 weeks per year
